Goodbye, Dolly!

After we enjoyed a delicious breakfast (thanks, Nolan!) we listened to Bruce's Passions Lead to Profit presentation and then Betty's presentation on Shaklee products. Next to me is Betty Nash and on the right (front to back) is Nolan Formalarie, Dan Boone, Debbie, and Lauren Formalarie.

After the formalities, Betty, Lauren, Bruce and I posed with Dolly who bid us farewell as we emerged into another glorious day of sunshine!

Early Morning in Southport

We started this fine day with a trip to Southport to meet a few other entrepreneurs for breakfast. We couldn't resist stopping at the Southport Waterfront Park to take a few shots of the beautiful harbor and passing boats. This short respite definitely set the tone for a pleasant breakfast meeting.

What Do These 5 People Have in Common?

1. Our nephew's young wife in Atlanta who is recovering from a hysterectomy.
2. A friend in our network marketing business who has a birthday next week.
3. A prospective coaching client.
4. Our Web designer who just completed our new Web site (www.QuantumResultsCoaching.com).
5. A colleague who reviewed my first book, 31 Days to Personal Mastery: Manifest Your Ideal Life...Grow Your Self in Just One Month (www.31DaysBooks.com).

In about 5 days they will each receive a personal greeting card from me with an appropriate message from my heart to theirs. I never had to leave my desk to create and personalize a beautiful greeting card for each of these important people in my life. If you want to see how I did it and send a free card yourself, visit www.fatcitycards.com.

BTW, "Fat City" means a state of continuous prosperity, which is what's being created in my life with the abundance of quality relationships I'm building through heartfelt greeting cards! Oh, and did I mention that's is also providing a growing income stream for me and our future family generations? Pretty cool, huh?

Play the Giving Game - Reviewers Wanted

I'm looking for reviewers for my second book, 31 Days to Personal Mastery: Create Abundance Through Giving...Grow Yourself in Just One Month.

Post a comment if you're interested.

Here's the 31st tip.

#31 Get Real

You can find something nice to say about everyone you meet. Do they have a beautiful smile, a great laugh (like me!), impeccable taste in clothes, a distinctive piece of jewelry, or a solid handshake? What about the less tangible, for example, you heard they just led an important community project to completion, their child just won a school award, or they won the lead role in a local production.

Next, be sincere when you give your compliment.. Sincere means being real or honest, while an insincere compliment is false or affected and doesn’t put you in the giving flow. Giving someone a compliment doesn’t take anything away from you. It’s not about you, it’s about them. For example, if their child won a school award and yours didn’t, the person needs to feel that you aren’t just giving them a compliment as a matter of etiquette because it’s expected to show good sportsmanship. In this case, you need to separate your feelings of disappointment about your child not winning from your commitment to giving a heartfelt compliment to the winner.

You know if someone gives you a sincere compliment if they look you in the eye, give you a warm smile, are gracious in what they say, and give you a chance to respond with appreciation. They don’t wait to have the last word – that sets a false tone.

Look for occasions each day to give sincere compliments, use your body and spoken language to convey honesty and don’t expect any direct return from giving to others in this way. You will get a return but you can’t predict how and when. That’s the fun of playing the giving game!

There's Power in a Mastermind!

I'm very grateful for the opportunity to participate in Bob Jenkin's SIMPLE 10k program, which is designed for people like us who want to launch an Internet marketing business.

One of the best features of the program, besides being coached by Bob, is having a Mastermind group. Here you see us having an early breakfast at the Dixie Grill in downtown Wilmington. Two of our Mastermind partners were absent for this gathering, but there are more to come during the course of our project year.

On the left is Bruce, then Bob Lampard, our new British friend, next to me. On the right is our teacher, Bob Jenkins, MaryAnn D'Ambrosio, a leadership coach from Connecticut, and next to MaryAnn is Erica Cosminsky, who runs a virtual transcription company in Tennessee. We had a chance to get to know Bob, MaryAnn, and Erica a lot better during their recent visit to Wilmington for their one-on-one sessions with Bob Jenkins. We can't wait to see them all again soon! We know Bob Lampard is anxious to come back for more of that North Carolina sunshine, and Erica is now a beach lover, thanks to the visit to Fort Fisher.

We're LIVE!

There is no end to the fun we're having this week with our new business, Quantum Results Coaching. After months of discussion, design, revision, collaboration, and evolution, our new Web site is LIVE. Please visit us at www.QuantumResultsCoaching.com.

We're going to make a testimonial video about our friends at TayloeGray in Wilmington - Web Designers extraordinaire! Don't miss it!

There seems to be a birthing theme going on here during April!

Progress at Brunswick Forest

This morning I had my annual blood tests at the new Wilmington Health Associates center in front of Brunswick Forest. Check out that blue sky!

As if that wasn't exciting enough, I spotted a What's Coming Soon sign and it made my day - both Lowes Foods and CVS will be opening in front of Brunswick Forest! That's what I call progress.

Giving Birth to My First Book

In addition to welcoming our new granddaughter, Libby Jean, into the world on April 6th, I personally gave birth to my first published book, 31 Days to Personal Mastery: Manifest Your Ideal Life (www.31DaysBooks.com) in the same week!

Publishing a book doesn't quite compare to giving birth, but I hope some day Libby Jean reads what her grandmother had to say about creating her ideal life.

iPhone

I'm now an official iPhone user! My Sprint contract finally ended so it was time to enter the Apple age. I love it!

My favorite features so far are the speaker phone, the built in camera, mobile e-mail and Web, and the intuitive interface. This is the best technology upgrade I've ever made!

So goodbye Sprint

and hello AT&T!

By the way, the folks at the ATMC store in Leland, NC could not have been nicer in helping me get my service transferred. Thanks Eddie and Ward!

Hello!

Welcome to my blog!

The beautiful beach scene above is at York Beach, Maine, the site of the birth of our youngest grandchild, Libby Jean, born April 6, 2010, weighing 9.5 pounds!

We love the beach and we love our grandchildren! It's a great combination!
